Pop-Up October Arts Newsletter. There is plenty on in Sydney this month…

Pop-Up October Arts Newsletter. Plenty on in Sydney this month – plenty on everywhere actually, but this month my focus is on art at home. The pickings are rich all over town, so here are some good ones to put on your calender and make a note for November. Until then… Cassie 0416 209 391

Robyn creates magic in hotel rooms with this stunning series combining low-tech camera obscura technique with high-tech digital capture. All done in camera. All done with a 5cm piece of glass as the primary light source. The outside world floods into the room, it’s pin-sharp image inverted and naturally projected across the walls, roof, bedding and sitters in this drama. Cinematic and fascinating glimpses where the outside and inside worlds mesh as one. Stills Gallery, Paddington

You only have until this Sunday to view the art Sketchbooks on display, including the winners. Over 60 books in total. I loved the concept. I love the space and the gallery. It is a pleasure to view an artist’s book (the sketchbooks have 10+ pages of drawings and watercolours), rather than one singular image. I can’t recommend visiting this lovely place highly enough and if you aren’t too bad with a pencil, then register for next year!
