Mid September Pop-Up Newsletter. A few lovely shows closing tomorrow and Sydney Life opening tonight (and yes, I am very pleased to say I am a finalist this year), there is also plenty in between. Ella Dreyfus is giving a free Artist Talk tomorrow, Ben Ali Ong has risen up, Richard Tipping is coming up and Coo-ee is now doing free gallery tours every Thursday. More below. So many good shows I have not had a chance to include any recommendations lately but I have some for October. Enjoy September. Cheers Cassie 0416 209 391

OPENINGS & UPCOMINGS…
Sydney Life Exhibition as part of Art & About 2012 Until 21 October
Hyde Park north near Archibald Fountain.
Free public exhibition open 24 Hours!
Historic Chinese Market Gardens, Matraville (near La Perouse). Cassandra French
Launching on Friday night, this is my photo above selected as one of 22 finalists for this years exhibition in Hyde Park. (I was also a finalist in 2009 with ‘Cooking Up a Storm’) This is from a series I took out at the gardens, which are under serious threat to be taken over by the neighbouring cemetery. What amazes me with these gardens is that they are so close to the CBD and not on the fringe of Sydney’s urban sprawl. They make up the history and fabric of the city and should be protected. You can almost smell the parsley and bok choy. Everyone should take a visit to the gardens in Bunnerong Road, Matraville. Also make sure to visit Hyde Park. To see all finalists:
